Black Pepper Books is a venture of a combined love of books and coffee. Our aim is to make books from India and the Middle East available in Europe. In India, we make academic books related to southern India published from outside available to the local audience. Our focus area is the broader Indian Ocean. Hence our brand name.

In principle, the products listed on our website are in stock and will be despatched on the same or next businessday after we receive your order. We will send you an email after your order has been despatched. We ship our products with PostNL. Generally, you can expect to receive your order a day after it has been despatched for addresses in The Netherlands, or a few days later for addresses elsewhere within the European Union.
All prices on the website are in euros and include value-added tax (VAT). After completing your order information, you will be sent to the website of our payment provider, where your payment will be handled securely. We have no access to any sensitive data concerning your payment, such as your credit card information.
You are allowed to cancel your order within 14 days after you receive the products. After announcing your cancellation, you have 14 days to return the products to us. If your order has already been paid, we will return the full amount to you including shipping costs within 14 days after we receive the products back. You can announce your cancellation to us via email at info@blackpepperbooks.eu. As a customer, you are responsible for returning the products to us and the shipping costs for the return. If reasonably possible, the products should be sent back in their original state, but you are allowed to evaluate the product and to remove any possible packaging if necessary. If the product is damaged or if the packaging is more damaged than necessary to evaluate the product, we may deduct the value on the depreciation of the product from the amount that we return. Please handle the product with care and make sure it is well packaged when you send it back.
You can use the model form to announce your cancellation, but you can also do so in another way, such as by sending us an email.
There is a possibility that something might happen which is not according to plan. We recommend that you first disclose any complaints by mailing us at info@blackpepperbooks.com. If this does not lead to a solution, it is possible to register your dispute for mediation via the ValuedShops/WebwinkelKeur (this applies for Dutch and/or Belgian customers only). As of February 15, 2016, it is also possible for consumers in the EU to report complaints through the European Commission's ODR platform. The ODR platform can be found at http://ec.europa.eu/odr. If your complaint is not yet handled elsewhere, you are free to file your complaint through the European Union platform.
